Jumping as much as anything let down Top Mark (NAP) yesterday at Perth although the winner proved something of a good thing, winning with more than a little in hand.
Couple of nice winners elsewhere with Emirates Sports W5/2 and Piazza San Pietro W2/1 but it was generally a day where we contracted a slight case of seconditus!
Plenty to go at today with #2 Seneschal (NAP) being our main bet of the day in the Redcar 6.10. Confidence is high that this Andrew Haynes 8yo can get the better of the hardly bombproof favourite Dabbers Ridge, who was turned over on Monday. Odds of 6/4 seem fair in what looks to be a two horse race.
Also at the Yorkshire track both Arizona John (7.15) and especially Stateside (9.20) command respect. Saxby (7.45) has also been heavily supported this morning.
Benllech (Epsom 7.55), Putra One (Newbury 9.10) and Cwm Rhonndda (Yarmouth 4.30) now back to his optimum trip for Peter Chapple-Hyam also merit a check in the markets.
At Haydock, cases can be made for Going For Gold (2.10) and Flame Of Hestia e/w (4.10) but the best bet on the card looks to be Rose Blossom (2.40) - although the price reflects that fact about Richard Fahey's 2yo.
Screenscraper (Perth 5.20) for Gordon Elliott looks a better piece of value than Pengana (2.20) under Tony McCoy in the day's only jumps meeting up at Perth.
