Aureate (NAP) started the week off as we mean to go on, well-backed and a winner - just. Couple of other successes last night as well made it a decent enough start to the week.
Today we place our trust in the capable hands of Henry Cecil who, when it comes to fillies, has few peers in the business. Our main bet therefore is #4 Ramora (NAP) in the Newbury 7.55. This one should know a lot more than on her debut at HQ last month and is taken to further the yard's record in this type of race.
Elsewhere on the flat today we'd pass on mentions for Flashy Lover in the Brighton 2.30 for Mick Channon, They All Laughed (2.45) and Almuktahem (5.15) at Beverley. The latter of Stoute's is possibly a bit of a dog but at 100/30 this morning, going over an extra furlong at a track where the trainer has a 26% strike rate with 3yo's it might just be worth a punt.
Couple of interesting rides for Tony McCoy tonight at Newton Abbot in the shape of Havenstone (6.30) and Archie Boy (7.35) - both should go close for the champion jockey.
