We broke the sequence yesterday as Ragsta (NAP) W10/11 in fine style last night (about time!)... and back on track again let's hope we can enjoy a much more productive week.
First day of Royal Ascot and our main bet comes at the big meeting itself where we're backing the Aidan O'Brien runner #6 Mastercraftsman (NAP) in the 3.45, the St. James Palace Stakes. The form is there for all to see but the horse does boast extremely sound credentials and should take all the beating today.
Also at Ascot there's plenty of good things being said about Canford Cliffs in the 4.20 and Star Rover e/w is one for the 5.30.
All else seems to pale into insignificance compared to the main event of the day but we'd mention a couple at Thirsk this afternoon where Saxby (2.15) has claims in the opener and Piste (6.15) might be worth just one last chance. Mark Johnston has got a couple of interesting newcomes against this pair though with Jutland (2.15) and Crimea (6.15) - so do watch the market closely.
As for this evening's action, a couple for Yarmouth would be Orsippus (6.30) and Howard (8.30) with just one for the jumps meeting at Newton Abbot is Phoenix Hill e/w in the 6.45 which is around the 16/1 mark.
