The Winning Line Daily Bulletin: 20 August 08

Not our busiest of days on Tuesday as York was abandoned... so a slight feeling of deja vu today as the second day of the Ebor meeting has also been washed out at the Knavesmire due to yet more rain. Pretty good Summer this isn't it!

Still, we did some good yesterday with Good Citizen (NAP) winning at Newton Abbot and we also saw Brinkmanship go in at Southwell. Keeps us well in the hunt for more profits in August, let's hope we can continue the trend today. Wednesday, once again, is more about quality than quantity.

We had North to begin with #3 Glenveagh (NAP) in the Hamilton 3.05. The Kevin Ryan runner had Royston Ffrench on board when winning at Carlisle 16 days ago and is fancied to repeat the dose this afternoon. With most runners today, the ground is of crucial importance but that stiff finish at the Cumbrian track bodes well for the 3yo's chances today in not the strongest of races.

We'll mention Astrodome of Prescott in the 4.50 - as we did last time and the time before (both winning) - as he goes for the hat-trick later today.

One to mention over the sticks would be Option Money in the Newton Abbot 7.10 (trainer Tim Vaughan was resonsible for Brinkmanship yesterday).

Not too much of note at Folkestone. We spoke about Portodora on seasonal debut a while back and this is the most interesting runner in the 6.55. The Cecil 3yo should go well.

But that's the lot for Wednesday. Let's hope York gets the green light for tomorrow and that we can keep a good week on track when we come back to you in the morning.
