P.K. wrote in yesterday to say that on current form we couldn't find the winner of a two horse race... even if we had two bets!
A tad unkind but, frankly, hard to disagree with on the back of a poor day yesterday as, for example, Miss Rochester (NAP) was very poor at Salisbury. Yes, Too Much Trouble went in W15/8 but that aside it wasn't a great day.
Bottom line is that results will always fluctuate, we all know that as seasoned backers, and we need to focus on the long-term (such as the good profits of the NAP bets over recent months). That is the true test of any service ... however frustrating short-term losing runs can become.
Today, aiming for better fortune, we'll start with #1 Asateer (NAP) in the Newmarket 5.30. The Barry Hills juvenile is very well regarded and is expected to take this en route to better things - although the likes of Stevie Junior and Syrinx provide decent opposition.
Elsewhere at HQ, Almiqdaad, another Hamdan Al Maktoum runner, has come in for early support in the 6.35.
We've been told to have a good look at #3 Badweia in the Nottingham 2.35. The John Dunlop runner is dropped in class here and is expected to go well.
On the same card, Satwa Laird, should take the opener at 2.00.
At Newbury we've have been with Shryl in the 2.20 but for a very short price and have been told about Party Frock in the 3.30 - but that looks a tricky little race.
Finally, at Kempton (nothing for Catterick today), it's #9 Mille Feuille in the 7.25. The Ralph Beckett runner is top-rated and can see off the John Hills runner which is coming back from 6 months off. Also on the same card we've had mentions for two newcomers in Winter Miss e/w (6.25) and Damini (6.55).
That's it for Friday. We hope a return to the winner's enclosure and then we can move onto a potentially busy Saturday.
