The Winning Line Daily Bulletin: 14 August 08

We've fallen foul of the going recently and that seemed the case yesterday with

High Alert (NAP), in particular, which didn't relish the ground up at Hamilton last night. That performance somewhat symptomatic of the way in which we've scratched around for winners during the last week... we trust that changes today!

We'll start with Sir Michael Stoute's runner in the 3.40 at Salisbury, #4 Miss Rochester (NAP). This 3yo won well last time out at Newbury and is taken to follow up here. The yard has a good record in these types of races at the track and it's the trainer's only representative here today.

We've had a couple of messages for the next at 4.15 but it's a tough race to sort out and probably best watched.

Staying with this afternoon's action we move across to Sandown and pass on a word for Mick Channon's Too Much Trouble in the 2.50. This one has been highly entered and could well make a winning debut in a race which doesn't look as though it will take much winning.

We'll keep faith with Jeremy Noseda after yesterday in the 5.10 and pass on #5 The Which Doctor. A winner at Sandown the back end of last month the view is that this 3yo can continue to improve past this moderate bunch.

Nothing for Beverley so we'll move onto this evening's fare with a couple to mention at Great Leighs.

In the 6.00 Paul Cole's runner Stan's Cool Cat was a NAP when she won at Chepstow last time out. Tonight the vibes are good again but this is a trappy little heat.

Instead we'll go to the 8.00 and #13 Desert Hawk. This one went in three days ago at Wolverhampton with a claimer up top. Eddie Ahern takes over today as the yard expect a quick follow-up.

Hopefully a return to winning ways as we've plenty of business lined up for Friday and Saturday! We'll be back with you in the morning.
