The Winning Line Daily Bulletin: 11 August 08

A new week gives us the chance to draw a line under a disappointing Saturday when only Misdaqeya e/w 2nd 14/1 > 8/1 ran anywhere near expectations. We were told the information provided was, as ever, going related but we (probably like you) have our reservations about that - too many horses simpy under-performed.

Anyway, riot acts have been read and we start anew.

Possibly a blessing in disguise but Monday is a quiet day. Not the best of racing it has to be said, illustrated by a jumps card in the centre of the Racing Post - so much for the flat, hey?

We'll start with #3 Night Seed (NAP) in the Windsor 5.50. The defection of Crystal Moments has opened the door for this Hannon 2yo who won on soft at Chepstow the time before last. Even allowing for both these facts maybe still not one for the mortgage but our strongest word of the day none the less.

Later, in the 7.50, Stoute's Dollarsmile is a NR so the choice may well be the form of French Art or the promise of Acclaimed. There's no value in the Elsworth runner (French Art) at odds-on so it's a race probably best swerved.

Nothing of note at both Thirsk and Wolverhampton (Prescott's Haven't A Clue in the 3.30 was considered) where the standard is somewhat mediocre.

And the jumps at Southwell is similarly lacking in information, making for a pretty quiet start to the week.

So that's your lot. Nothing to get too excited about but a couple of calls to make later today with an eye to Tuesday. We'll see you next tomorrow morning.
