This Daily Bulletin will appear in the archive at a later date.
We got a good run for our money yesterday, barely a horse let us down, however we were still left scratching our heads as to how we didin't really make any money!
Down at Brighton, Starry Sky W8/11 obliged at a decent price and Hawk House e/w 2nd 4/1 > 11/4 ran a solid race, as we were told. We then had Thumbs Up and Andhaar both coming 2nd before Askar Tau (NAP) landed the odds at Yarmouth - the Tregoning runner was 5/6 early doors but eventually SP'ed at 4/11!
On another day we could have made a bundle - well, let's hope it's today instead! Six meetings today, but we've had little news in regarding today's meeting at Brighton so we'll move onto Yarmouth.
Firstly, a note for Leahurst in the 2.20 - the one to keep an eye on here. This one hasn't been seen out before and is up against Michael Jarvis's Aakef and Godolphin's Hajoum who have both had the run. The Jeremy Noseda/Ryan Moore combination is usually of interest, and this will be one to follow in the market.
Similarly in the 3.50, Moore is on Sir Michael Stoute's Certain Promise and this is another we'll be keeping a watching brief on but it's too short for us at odds on. The main news for Yarmouth concerns #1 Ghufa (EW) in the 4.50. This should be a big price (around 14/1) and any market support would be significant - this horse could be anything in a poor race.
Looking to Haydock and we've had contradictory messages for the two big races (3.40 and 4.10) - it's hard to get involved with half a dozen in each race who have claims so we're going to steer clear.
Moving on to the evening racing and news in the Sandown 7.55 for #4 Tanto Faz. The Willie Haggas horse won over a mile at Haydock last time out and we're backing it to win at about 4/1 - this represents the value up against the shade disappointing Ascot Lime.
Little news in for the Bath meeting except for Night Rocket in the 8.35. This horse has had it's problems, but the Balding/Probert combination is one to note.
Finally to Folkestone and the 7.45 for our nap of the day - #3 Galpin Junior (Nap) - the 2yo from Brain Meehan was 3rd on its only start at Salisbury but is expected to step up tonight. Earlier on, Casual Garcia in the 6.05 must have chances but is a little too short for us to get involved.
Back tomorrow, Friday, at the usual time - see you then...
