Pleasing to finish the month with Royal Dignitary obliging at Musselburgh - that means our (NAP) bets alone for July showed a profit in excess of £2,000 with 16 winners from 26 bets, a 61% strike rate!!
Loach Dubh ran out of puff at Stratford to finish 2nd but Marching Time ran very green at Sandown last night (don't give up on that one just yet).
Busy day to start the month of August, so let's get to it...
Quickly to Thirsk where we noted John Gosden's fancied runner Aflaam in the declarations for the 3.15 - before we saw the price today of long odds-on! The trainer has a great record here (3-7, 43%) but this one is too short for us.
Later, in the 3.50, we've had words for both Beautiful Lady and Gosden's Citron Presse (which we were on last time) against the opposable looking Amicable Terms.
Just one at Goodwood today (both Iguazu Falls and Befortyfour were NR's yesterday) which is Richard Hannon's #2 Sohcahtoa in the 4.40. The yard has the golden touch with 2yo's and this one is fancied to get the better of Prescott's Rapid Release.
Finally for this afternoon take a look at #5 Hermano Cordobes in the Bangor 5.25. Always worth looking at chasers reverting to hurdles and this Hobbs runner could be thrown in against an exposed bunch in this moderate race.
This evening, forgive #1 Awinnersgame (NAP) that last run in the Newmarket 7.00. The pairing of Noseda and Dettori is a potent one and this juvenile can prove his ability of 7f after that Newbury flop. Also watch the market on Noseda's War Native in the 5.55...
Finally, at Haydock, there have been mentions for a couple of horses in the 7.50. With questions marks over Arabian Art after that Folkestone win we're siding with Paul Cole's #4 Harlech Castle as an each-way alternative (over Hazelrigg).
Nothing for Bath so that's the lot for Friday. Hopefully a good start to the new month and more to follow tomorrow (already two messages are in for Doncaster).
