Yesterday we may well have learned that both Kammaan and Rose Street from Michael Jarvis are horses to watch next time, unfortunately we had to pay for the privilege of that knowledge!!
Yes, a mention for Buachaill On Eirne W5/2>11/8 came good but we also suffered as Ghaidaa was well backed at Goodwood (6/1>4/1) before her effort faltered down the home straight. Similarly, Little Jimbob defied positive messages earlier in the day to finish out of the frame at Redcar.
Last day of the month today so we can hopefully finish with a flourish with news from four tracks (Nottingham has drawn no comment of any substance).
We'll start with #3 Royal Dignitary (NAP) at Musselburgh in the 7.45. The Dandy Nichollls runner has been mentioned here before and once again this evening the vibes are positive about the in-form 8yo. You might well take a look at Signalman in 6.10.
Staying with this evening's fare we've heard a couple of messages for the 7.00 at Sandown. The Stoute runner, #8 Marching Time looks the one to beat on the information we have received (and it looks the pick of his four runners this evening). Money has already come in for this unraced 2yo.
Coming back to this afternoon, nothing from Nottingham, but do take a look at Charlie Mann's #1 Laoch Dubh in the Stratford 4.50. The Jonjo runner Charge It looks the principal danger but the figures clearly point to the top weight.
Finishing up at Goodwood, nothing strong enough to go to war. Each-way mentions for the likes of Befortyfour (2.50) and Iguazu Falls (4.40) - although the latter has the ground as the main concern.
That's all for Thursday. A quieter day than we might have expected but days like this are prone to happen from time to time. One thing we'll never do is invent material just for the sake of it.
