Talking about the Charity Shield (Community Shield) in football, Brian Clough once said that
"winning it isn't important... qualifying for it is."
Reason being, for a side to play in the annual season curtain-raiser they must have won either the FA Cup or First Division (Premier League) title the previous year.
We all tend to remember who did that. But few of us can recall which side went on to win the Wembley decider.
Same goes for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
Do you know who won last year's seasonal play-off to determine the champion of champions?
Probably not.
But what really matters is that each year the field is made up of the winner from the four golf majors... US Masters, US Open, the Open Championship and the USPGA.
It might not be the tournament in itself which is important. But booking a place in the exclusive four man field... that's what every golfer wants to do.
Who's In The 2011 Line-Up?
This time around the field is made up of four first-time major champions.
Charl Schwartzel (Masters), Rory McIlroy (US Open), Darren Clarke (Open) and Keegan Bradley (USPGA) head for the Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda.

The event is held over two days (October 18-19) with the winner pocketing a cool $600,000 for a couple of rounds of golf. The fourth placed man gets a mere $200,000... just for turning up!
This will be the fifth year the event has been held in Bermuda. Angel Cabrera (2007), Jim Furyk (2008), Lucas Glover (2009) and Ernie Els (2010) - playing as an alternate - being the four previous winners at the Caribbean island resort.
Prior to this the annual event was held in Hawaii... where Tiger Woods was a five-time champion. No Tiger this year though!
Which Golfer Will Win This Year's Event?
Our resident golf betting expert Keith Elliott has a strong view on the 2011 renewal of the Grand Slam Of Golf.
Despite it only being a four man field "you can still land yourself a very nice winner with the right information," says the man who this year has been providing his members with a host of golf winners.
As ever, Keith will be covering the event in detail... just like every golf event on the European Tour and the USPGA Tour. And with winners up to 225/1 this year (that's right... 225/1) you don't want to miss out!
