Some commentators doubted the victory of Sebastian Vettel in the 2010 Formula 1 Drivers' Championship.

| Vettel's win in Monaco, his 5th of the season, puts him 58 points clear of 2nd placed Lewis Hamilton |
After all, the 23-year-old only headed the points table after the very last race of the season in Abu Dhabi, snatching the title from
Fernando Alonso,
Lewis Hamilton,
Jenson Button and his Red Bull Racing team-mate,
Mark Webber.
However, those concerns have been firmly banished after Vettel's blistering start to the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Race wins in Australia, Malaysia, Turkey, Spain and Monaco have seen the defending world champion disappear into the distance in this year's title race - so much so, leading bookmakers Paddy Power have already paid out on the German to win this year's Formula 1 Drivers' Championship.
At this rate the rest of the season will be little more than one, long lap of honour! The pre-season 11/4 favourite is now a best priced 1/7 to land his second world crown... fuelling further comparisons with his fellow-countryman, Michael Schumacher.
But Do You Remember 2009?
Two years ago, under the guidance of Ross Brawn, it was Jenson Button who trailblazed through the first half of the season. The Brit won 6 of the first 7 Grand Prix races for Brawn GP, looking every bit as dominant as Vettel in the process.

| Brawn & Button: Bad luck and bad decisions almost blew a massive lead |
However, after such a great start, things changed dramatically. That's when bad luck started to strike, when the odd bad decision occurred mid-race and when other teams like McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull began to make big technological advances... Button very nearly blew it. He ended up falling over the line with several drivers breathing down his neck.
It Could Happen Again!
Don't forget, the likes of McLaren-Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes can only get better as the season progresses. They can only get more competitive.
Red Bull can't get much better, despite the great work of Vettel and team-boss Christian Horner.
The chasing pack will surely close on the German as he tries to lead from his current pole position all the way to the chequered flag at the end of the season at the Brazil GP.
That said, RBR-Renault are a very strong team these days. Vettel will take some catching and having advised him to win last year's F1 Drivers Title at 13/2 it seems unthinkable that he won't follow-up this time around.
What Formula 1 bosses, and supremo Bernie Ecclestone, want is a race down to the wire. Right through to Sao Paulo in November.
Before then key races like the British GP at Silverstone, the German GP at the Nurburgring and the new the Indian GP in Delhi will test Vettel's racing ability and red Bull's current dominance of Formula 1.
