Golf Betting Tips: Oppose Tiger For The 2011 USPGA Tour Money List

In golf, one thing's for sure: Tiger Woods, without a single victory in 2010, will be back winning tournaments once again in 2011. Question is ... will the former world No.1 achieve enough success to land him another US PGA Tour Money List title?

Woods needs to win two more Majors to equal Jack Nicklaus' record of 18

An end of season capitulation to Graeme McDowell in the Chevron World Challenge (where, unbelievably, Tiger led by four shots going into the last round only to lose out to the Ulsterman in a play-off) was a loss which really summed up Tiger's year.

No wins in a season for the 34-year-old, in fact, the first blank year since he turned professional back in 1996.

On The Trail Of More Majors

The bookmakers clearly expect a backlash in 2011 as Woods will be out firstly to reclaim his status as the best golfer on the planet (Lee Westwood, surely, is doing little more than keeping the No.1 seat warm) and then to add to his haul of14 major titles. To date Tiger has amassed a phenomenal haul of majors - US Masters (4), US Open (3) and US PGA (4) along with the Open Championship (3) - but he still trails the legendary Jack Nicklaus (18). That record remains the main career target of Woods from hereon.

Fair enough, and he may well do it in the years to come but, looking just at next year, should Woods be in as short as 8/11 to win the Money List? Not on his form in 2010, that's for sure.

Matt Kuchar took top honours in 2010 with a figure of $4,910,000 which was achieved with just one PGA success (The Barclays) plus a number of high finishes - a total of 11 top tens from 26 events played. So it's not just the big names who come out on top and not those who win a major or WGC event.

Please note as well, the Fedex Cup outright winner (Jim Furyk in 2010) who pockets a cool $10m bonus can't count this money towards their regular season Money List figure.

Value Betting Market

The success of Kuchar illustrates how 'lesser golfers' can win the top prize and also how much value there is to be had in this market, especially with Tiger Woods trading at odds-on.

With a number of improving US players on the scene - Dustin Johnson (25/1), Rickie Fowler (50/1), Nick Watney (66/1) - it would be no surprise to see another homegrown player taking top honours.

However, the European talent set to play Stateside in 2011 is better than we've ever seen before Stateside ... Graeme McDowell (33/1), Luke Donald (40/1), Paul Casey (40/1) and Ian Poulter (50/1) have all got the ability to get in the shake-up. Consider as well the whole world of golf with Ernie Els (40/1), Adam Scott (40/1) and Geoff Ogilvy (50/1).

Huge each-way value is on offer for the 2011 US PGA Tour Money List and the last player you want to be backing is Tiger Woods - either on the grounds of form or simply down to his very poor value.
